What's cooler than 2 million pounds of carved ice?

I had the chance to explore the amazing ICE! display at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas, and it was spectacular!  The highlight of the experience for most will be a chance to slide down one of the 5 2-story ice slides they have in this holiday attraction.

They keep the rooms at 9° Fahrenheit so the ice doesn't melt...and that means it is COLD.  The AC is always blowing, so it almost feels a bit breezy, too, but never fear!  They provide stylish blue parkas (their words!) to help you keep warm.  I also suggest a knit hat that covers your ears, a scarf and gloves as well as warm shoes and pants.

Curious what you might see?  I have a video walk-through to help you decide if ICE! is something you should go see in a city near you.

Here is a brief list of facts about ICE!:
--Walk-through holiday attraction, kept at a chilly 9 degrees
--Two million pounds of hand-carved ice sculptures
--Five two-story tall ice slides
--Tells the story of the classic television special “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town”

--Conclude your experience with the majesty of a full nativity in stunning, crystal clear ice

There are 4 locations with ICE! available:

Gaylord Texan

Gaylord National Harbor
Gaylord Palms Resort
Gaylord Opryland
